Sustainability Project Manager at Science For Change!

Project leadership and execution:

• Direct and oversee research projects from initiation to closure, including defining objectives, detailed planning, resource allocation, timeline management, implementation, work follow-up, deadline compliance, and risk mitigation. Ensure strict adherence to grant requirements and reporting guidelines for agencies (e.g., European Commission, Catalan or Spanish government), while guaranteeing excellence in deliverables.

Partner and stakeholder liaison

• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, European consortium partners, clients, national/international funding bodies, and external partners (universities, public administrations, private companies, NGOs, communities) to ensure smooth project execution and build strong ongoing relationships.

Monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment

• Establish key performance indicators, monitor project progress, evaluate outcomes, and assess the overall impact on sustainability goals.

Communication and dissemination

• Contribute to the effective communication and dissemination of project results and impact to diverse audiences. This includes preparing deliverables, scientific papers, dissemination articles, and blog articles, as well as presenting at events, consortium meetings, scientific conferences, and sectoral fairs.

Business development and market transfer

• Drive growth in the Sustainability Area in collaboration with the Business Area. Identify new public and private funding opportunities, synergies, and collaboration paths; design new projects; draft proposals, private offers, and technical bids for public/private calls; and contribute to the valorization and market transfer of SFC methodologies through collaboration agreements and private projects with clients and research organizations.

• Master's degree in fields related to circular economy, food systems, sustainability, environmental engineering, natural resources management, or related disciplines.
• A PhD and/or an interest in applying for competitive funding for a PhD or Post-Doc will be highly valued.
• A track record of publications will be highly valued.
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in managing complex projects, preferably in the sustainability, agri-food, environmental pollution, or circular economy sectors.
• Experience writing successful competitive proposals will be highly valued.
• Knowledge of European funding programmes (HE, H2020, Interreg, Eurostars, Life+, Erasmus+, Creative Europe), as well as national (CDTI, FECYT, Next Generation) and regional (Catalonia) funding instruments.
• Solid understanding of sustainability principles, circular economy, climate emergency, biodiversity, and citizen engagement in environmental issues.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish or Catalan; proficiency in all three languages is a strong plus.
• Must reside in or around Barcelona and hold a valid permit to work in Spain.
